FRESNO  (AP) — A $10,000 reward is being offered for information about the killing of a Sikh man in Fresno.
Crime Stoppers and the city’s Sikh community are providing the monetary incentive for more information about 68-year-old Gurcharan Singh Gill’s killer.
Gill was repeatedly stabbed on New Year’s Day inside the convenience store where he worked. Though gill was not wearing any attire that would indicate he was a member of the Sikh community, police have not ruled out the possibility that his killing was a hate crime.
Gill’s death comes just days after another Sikh man was assaulted in the area. A 68-year-old Sikh man, who was wearing a turban at the time, was assaulted on Dec. 26.
