WALNUT CREEK  (AP) — Police say two teenagers died and three others were injured after an 18-year-old woman suspected of drunken driving plunged off a highway overpass.

The East Bay Times reports the California Highway Patrol says the driver and four passengers on Sunday were on Highway 24 in Walnut Creek approaching Interstate 680 when their vehicle dropped about 40 feet (12 meters).

The CHP says two 18-year-old men in the car were declared dead at the scene. Two 18-year-old women suffered major injuries and were transported to a hospital.

Officials say the driver, Ramya Ramey, also suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The CHP says Ramey was arrested for multiple counts of felony manslaughter for killing two of her passengers and multiple counts of felony DUI.
