National Forensic League Executive Director J. Scott Wunn recently announced that Delta Charter has earned the 2012-13 Leading Chapter Award in the Big Valley District.

“This is another outstanding honor earned by the team and its coaches,” said Jeff Tilton, Deputy Superintendent of Schools, New Jerusalem School District. “It is clearly a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance exhibited by the coaches and team. It is not only a tribute to the coaches and team, but to the entire Delta family and alumni”

Coaches Reed Niemi and Caiti Sarvey, both instructors at Delta Charter School, will receive a commemorative plaque at the district tournament later this school year.

Out of more than 3,000 NFL schools nationwide, Delta is one of only 109 to receive the Leading Chapter Award. Only one school in each district attains this designation each year, and it must wait at least five years before being eligible again.
