CAMARILLO (AP) — A Southern California basset hound named Buddy is dead after someone soaked the dog in lighter fluid and set him on fire.
A neighbor saw the fire in a Ventura County ravine just outside Camarillo and called the Fire Department.
Firefighters found the severely burned dog early Saturday. The animal later died.
A sheriff's news release on Tuesday says arson investigators determined someone poured lighter fluid on the dog and set it ablaze.
There are no arrests.
