SACRAMENTO (AP) — Sacramento police say one man is dead and six others wounded after a drive-by shooting Sunday morning at a Sacramento Halloween party.
The party was promoted online as being an adults-only event at a business called Studio 8. Police told KCRA that the party was illegal because promoters were charging people to attend what was supposed to be a private event.
Witnesses told police that just after 1:30 a.m. a midnight blue, two-door BMW drove by and someone inside opened fire on people as they were leaving the event.
The victim was a 28-year-old father of three. The six others who were wounded were transported to the hospital and are expected to survive.
The party was promoted online as “Nor Cal’s Naughtiest Halloween Party” for guests 18 and over.
