Ethics expert hired after high school scandals

NEWPORT BEACH (AP) — The Newport-Mesa Unified School District has hired an ethics consultant to work at a high school where some students allegedly hacked into computers and others held a controversial “prom draft.”

 Kevin O’Grady will be paid about $5,000 to meet with students and staff at Corona del Mar High.

O’Grady is director of The Center OC, an advocacy group.

Officials hope he will help restore the school’s reputation after a year of controversy.

Eleven students were suspected of hacking into computers to change grades with the help of a private tutor.
