LINDEN — This summer Community Theatre of Linden is staging their most ambitious musical yet, “Footloose the Musical”, that opens Friday, July 31.
It plays Friday and Saturday evenings with Sunday matinees until Aug. 9. Community Theatre of Linden is located at 18527 East Front St. in Linden, just 10 miles east of Stockton.
Based on the familiar 1984 film Footloose starring Kevin Bacon about a boy from the big city of Chicago who moves to the small town of Bomont only to find dancing is banned, He shakes up the populace with his energy and rebellious spirit. Footloose the musical, at CTL, features the same story line and all of the great songs, as well as an energetic cast from all over the region.
“We have principal and ensemble players coming from Stockton, Calaveras County, Lodi, Elk Grove and of course Linden,” said director Rocky Rhoades. “The level of dedication this cast and crew has shown for this particular production is humbling. They are really giving it their all and many are traveling a long way to do it.”
With a cast of 35 and a score that features top 10 hits from the 80s like Footloose, Let’s Hear it for The Boy, Holding Out for a Hero and Almost Paradise, Footloose the Musical at Community Theatre of Linden promises big summer fun for the now five year old community theatre.
