Injured hiker airlifted from Yosemite Park

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK  (AP) — A 63-year-old woman is being treated after she was airlifted out of Yosemite National Park due to injuries.
The Fresno Bee reports that the Palo Alto resident was hiking the Nevada Falls trail on Saturday when she slipped on an icy patch and fell about 10 feet. She was too injured to walk or be carried out, so search-and-rescue personnel sheltered her overnight.
Sunday a California Highway Patrol helicopter was able to retrieve the woman after her impromptu camping. She was taken to a Modesto hospital, where she was treated for a possible back fractur
