Manteca residents will soon have an opportunity to learn details regarding proposed Manteca Transit routes, service times, and connections with the regional ACE rail service during a series of information sessions planned for later this month.

“The City is nearing completion of its 2014 Transit Development Plan, a project funded by federal and local transportation planning monies,” noted Johanna Ferriera, Transit Manager for the city.   “In addition to offering an objective assessment of recent Manteca Transit performance, the Plan includes a menu of recommendations which the City can implement across the next five years to further enhance its local bus and dial-a-ride services.”

Three, hour-long information sessions will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at locations throughout Manteca.  Each session will include an opportunity for questions and public comment. Session locations include Manteca Senior Center (12:30 to 1:30 pm), Manteca Library (3  to 4 pm), and Manteca Transit Center (4:30 to 5:30 pm).

Public comments regarding the project as well as the initial findings and recommendations can also be submitted via email (info@mantecatransit.com).

According to Ferriera, the City’s public transit service has continued to experience growth across its 8-year history.  The upcoming information sessions will provide an important opportunity for Manteca residents to learn more about their ‘hometown’ bus program, and to share ideas regarding future program development.
