Placeholder Image

Manteca Unified School District currently has five comprehensive high schools and twenty elementary schools. All comprehensive high schools offer the same courses of study, curriculum, and co-curricular activities. All elementary schools offer the same curriculum. All Manteca Unified School District schools will be accepting intra-district transfer requests for grades 1 through 12, through the Open Enrollment process.

Open Enrollment Request forms will be at all of the school sites from through the close of school office hours on Friday, Jan. 29. Open Enrollment Request forms for all schools must be filled out at the schools of residence for possible placement at the requested school for the 2016-2017 school year. All forms will be date stamped at the schools of residence to ensure that the Open Enrollment Request forms were completed within the Open Enrollment window. Late Open Enrollment Request forms will not be accepted.

Elementary Open Enrollments must be renewed each year and renewal Open Enrollment forms are to be filled out at the requested school. High School Open Enrollments do not require renewal, but continuation of placement at the requested high school after the first year on OE is contingent upon satisfactory attendance, behavior and academic achievement of the student as defined by the receiving school Administration and CWA.

Students applying for Open Enrollment are enrolled in their school of residence until a final determination is made on the Open Enrollment requests. Open Enrollment requests will be approved based on space availability. For all five high schools, if there are more applicants than space available, a District lottery will be conducted. Parents will be notified of the status of their requests by approximately March 31, 2016. Transportation to and from school of choice will be the responsibility of the parent/student applicant. For further Open Enrollment information, contact your school of residence.

For incoming Kindergarten Open Enrollment information, please call your school of residence in early April, 2016. If you are a student athlete, please be aware that the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section has eligibility requirements for transfer students. Consult the CIF Bylaws at www.cifsjs.org.

Family Tech Training set for

Wednesday at Golden West

Learning new things can be hard. The Manteca Unified School District Community Outreach & Innovative Programs Dept. wants to help make it a little easier for you.

On Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Golden West, the department staff is holding a Family Technology Training Session for parents and their students.

Training will present you with some of the features our public website offers, some of the technology tools that your children are learning, and how you can help them be successful.

Bring your child’s district issued device and attend an interactive session where you will learn how to use OneNote—see the class notebook and know what was assigned that day—and Office 365, how your student can save all their work to be accessed from any computer. Training will also demonstrate some of the other technology tools we use in Manteca Unified School District.
