LOS ANGELES (AP) — Medical marijuana patients in Los Angeles and Orange counties have a new way to pick up their prescription.

Three University of Southern California students launched a web-based medical marijuana delivery app yesterday at 4:20 p.m., a common day of celebration for marijuana enthusiasts.

While marijuana delivery isn’t new, the funding source is. The Alex Milligan, Collin Mann and Kam Babazade say they raised $100,000 by referring riders to the ride-hailing service Lyft, which pays a commission of $10 to $20 for each rider referral.

Through the app, patients submit a photo of their ID and a doctor’s note and then select either delivery or pickup from a nearby dispensary. Those without paperwork can request a doctor’s appointment through the service.
