• Couple robbed, kidnapped at lookout spot: BERKELEY (AP) — Police say a couple sitting in a car at a Berkeley hillside lookout point taking in the view of the San Francisco Bay were robbed and kidnapped. University of California, Berkeley police are looking for three men who tried to rob a 26-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man about 2 a.m. Thursday. No one was injured. Police said the men, armed with at least two guns and two baseball bats, went to the couple’s car, parked on Grizzly Peak Boulevard viewpoint behind the UC Berkeley campus, and tried to rob them. The couple said they had no cash so one man drove with them to an ATM. The other men followed them in a red, four-door car. A full description of the car and the suspects was not available Friday. The couple turned over the cash and men drove away.

• Trash cleared from California pot grow sites: SEQUOIA NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. (AP) — Volunteers have helped remove more than three tons of trash from illegal marijuana growing sites on national forest land in Central California. The U.S. Forest Service says the operation targeting 13 former cultivation sites in the Sierra and Sequoia national forests netted drip line, fertilizer and toxic pesticides. The goal was to restore habitat and remove risks to wildlife. The Fresno Bee reports that the cleanup effort began Nov. 5 and lasted more than a week. State and federal officials also participated.

• 2 arrests after SoCal shoppers fight: TUSTIN, Calif. (AP) — Two women have been arrested after an early morning Black Friday fight among shoppers at a Southern California store. Tustin police Sgt. Ryan Coe tells City News Service a disturbance was reported at a Kohl’s department store around 1 a.m. Two female victims were located on the second floor near the baby section and two suspects were found on the first floor. Coe says it appears the four women got into an argument and a physical altercation ensued. Coe says one victim was taken to a hospital as a precaution. He did not know the nature of her injuries.
