The On Track Band hailing from the Sierra High Music program is playing at Market & Music in Manteca on Tuesday at Library Park.

The On Track Band was launched in 2011. It was originally comprised of Sierra High School Band Director Rick Hammarstrom and three of his students: Robert Bassett, Mark Twomey, and Ryan Silveira. Band members currently are Hammarstrom on saxophone, Robert Bassett on bass, Jonathan Hernandez-Vargas on drums, and Xach Wagner in guitar.

The band plays mostly jazz originals, and plays standards as well. They have performed at a wide variety of events, including private parties, corporate events, restaurants, charity fundraisers, and other events.

Their self-titled CD will be available soon.

Besides having 11 farmers selling vegetables, fruits, nuts and more there are a number of other vendors at the event running from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday along with a beer and wine garden.

Market & Music in Manteca takes place every Tuesday through the end of July at Library Park from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

The farmers are lined up on the street facing the park while vendors encircle the gazebo. That allows families to enjoy the music as they shop as well as stay awhile to enjoy the cool summer evening.

The presenting sponsors are American Chevrolet and South San Joaquin Irrigation District.

The event is being staged by the Manteca Chamber of Commerce.

Vendor space is $20 per night for non-profits, $35 for crafters and commercial vendors, and $45 for food vendors. Chamber members receive a $5 discount.

For more information contact the chamber at 823.6121 or go to www.Manteca.org for email access.
