SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — San Francisco police are trying to identify three robbery suspects who stormed into a woman’s apartment and briefly held her dog ransom.

Police spokesman Albie Esparza tells the San Francisco Chronicle one of the suspects picked up the 65-year-old woman’s dog during the Tuesday night robbery in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood and demanded she hand over cash and prescription pills.

The woman complied, and the dog was not harmed.

Esparza says the suspects — a man and two women — had barged into the apartment after the victim opened the door in response to loud knocking.
