SONOMA  (AP) — A woman arrested for allegedly using fake credit cards at a Northern California casino showed up to court but left her 3-year-old daughter alone in her car with hypodermic syringes.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Raasch says 33-year-old Jhona Mathews of Walnut Creek was arrested Saturday for allegedly using fake credit cards at the Graton Casino and other locations.

Mathews appeared for an arraignment Thursday, and she told the judge that she had left her toddler in the parking lot unattended.

Raasch says authorities found the girl in the car and turned her over to Child Protective Services.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded hypodermic needles filled with what authorities believed to be methamphetamine.
