LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fast-moving thunderstorms dumped heavy rain that triggered flash floods and mud flows in rural areas of the San Bernardino Mountains.

San Bernardino County sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Bachmann says deputies checked on residents in the Forest Falls and Big Falls areas because of reports of significant mud and debris flowing down the hillsides. Bachmann says no structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.

Several roads were obstructed by debris.

One woman in Forest Falls was trapped on a hiking trail by the flooding, but was rescued unharmed by a county fire team.

Forest Falls is a community of about 1,000 people northeast of Redlands.

Flash flood waters also made washes overflow and filled streets with water in Lake Elsinore and Victorville, where one driver had to abandon his stuck car.
