Manteca Firefighters Local #1874 IAFF is again hosting their annual Tip a Fireman event on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 5 until 9 p.m. in support of the Give Every Child a Chance’s free after school mentor/tutoring programs.

The firefighters, along with Applebee’s staff, will take orders and serve dinners to the patrons of Applebee’s. As patrons leave, 100% of the tips they leave in the fireman’s boot (at the door) will go towards supporting the Give Every Child a Chance free after school mentor/tutoring programs. Last year this event generated $1,678 in tips in the boot, for the free mentor/tutoring programs.

Give Every Child a Chance is a non-profit organization committed to helping children reach their full potential, while building their self esteem and confidence, by offering a variety of youth support services including one-on-one mentor tutoring and after school advantage programs. Give Every Child a Chance has served over 4,600 youth this year, with nearly 450 volunteers, and 43 locations throughout the communities of San Joaquin County.

One hundred percent of the tips placed in the firefighter’s boots benefit Give Every Child a Chance programs.
