Wind surfers stranded on SF Bay

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The Coast Guard says its crews pulled more than two dozen wind surfers and kite boarders from the waters off Crissy Field in San Francisco after they became stranded.

The rescues took place between 5:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Sunday. Coast Guard Lt. j.g. Sean Kelly says the 25 wind surfers and kite boarders were not in any immediate danger, and none of them was hurt.

Still, the Coast Guard wanted to get them out of San Francisco Bay to avoid any possible contact with the large commercial ships that travel through the area.
