Swiss Echoes cabaret concert & dance Saturday

RIPON — The San Joaquin Valley Swiss Echoes will perform their Fall Concert and Dance Saturday, Nov. 5, at the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club Hall in Ripon, at the corner of East Main Street and Manley Road.

They will be performing songs and yodels in a Cabaret setting from their native homeland, Switzerland, under the direction of Christina Boone of Merced and accompanied on the piano by Sara-Rae Vanderhelm of Modesto.  The 35 members come from surrounding areas of Brentwood, Elk Grove, Escalon, French Camp, Galt, Oakdale, Manteca, Modesto, Ripon, Stockton, Sacramento, and Turlock. They practice weekly at the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Hall in Ripon.

Specials performing for the evening concert will be our very own members: Lisa Ward-Dillier, singing and yodeling; Annabel Murata, Margaret & Monika Higgins, Robert & Penny Jones, Barbara Masterson, Magdalena Battig, and Betty Ott performing a Swiss Food Song; a duet by Ursula Widmer and Hanna Kessler, and alphorn selections by Robert Fox of Brentwood.

For your added pleasure Matthew Gallego will play a couple of pieces on his Schwyzerogeli (Swiss accordion) accompanied on the Clevele by Barti Muller.

This concert program will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Dance following the concert to the music of Ed Sciarini & Artur Nicola.

Concert & dance tickets can be purchased at the door for $10. Children under 16 are admitted free to the concert & dance.
