MODESTO — Marcelo Solis, a judge for the USA branch of the Argentine Tango World Cup competition, will lead two workshops and perform at a milonga (Argentine tango dance party) on Saturday, Jan. 7, at Jacobs Fine Dining, 2501 McHenry Ave.

He will teach all levels at 2:30 p.m., intermediates at 4 p.m. Modesto Tango’s evening milonga at Jacobs will begin with an introductory class at 7:30 p.m. and open dancing at 8:30 p.m.

Solis, and his partner, Olga Matveeva, will perform at 10 p.m.

Solis was a finalist in the 1994 Argentine national traditional stage championship and 2010 salon dance-style in Buenos Aires.

He teaches dance for its social setting, not the stage. The fee is $20 for one class, $35 for both, for the milonga is $10 for both lesson and dance, or $5 for the dance alone. Participants will be able to order food and beverage through the evening.
