During the recent Holiday Boutique, Alyssa Cambra collected over 200 toys for Haven of Peace youngsters.
It was more than the Central Catholic High sophomore and Manteca product expected.
She was especially thankful.
“Your generosity far surpassed any hopes that we had collecting toys this year,” said Andrea Cambra, speaking on behalf of her daughter Alyssa.
Along with Haven of Peace – that’s the homeless shelter in French Camp for women and children – Alyssa Cambra also managed to help three other charities.
Among those listed were “The Giving Tree” at St. Anthony’s parish, the Gospel Mission, and the Children’s Hospital along with six local families.
For Cambra, this was her second straight year of conducting a drive of unwrapped gifts for youngsters.
She collected toys during the three-day Holiday Boutique at the MRPS Hall.
“This is the true meaning of Christmas,” Andrea Cambra said. “We thank everyone so much and look forward to achieving our goal for next Christmas.”
