Thieves steal 3 vehicles; three homes broken into

Three auto burglaries took place within some two hours in Manteca Saturday morning in addition to vehicle thefts and home burglaries during the day, according to Manteca Police.

Officers were looking for three black males driving an older pickup without a hood who were suspected of breaking into a vehicle in the parking lot of an auto parts store in the 100 block of South Main St. shortly before noon.

The first auto burglary of the morning was reported in the 800 block of Atherton Drive and the last was in the 100 block of Sheridan Avenue.  Three other auto burglaries occurred in the 1200 block of Sand Castle Way, the 600 block of Placer Avenue and in the 2000 block of Toscano Drive

In mid-afternoon a residential burglary occurred in the 2000 block of Westboro Lane with a resident reporting another about 8 p.m. Saturday night near an apartment complex in the 100 block of El Portal Avenue.  Another residential burglary was called in to officers in the 200 block of Laurelwood Court.

There were also three reports of stolen vehicles on Saturday.  The first was called in at shortly after 9 a.m. from the 800 block of Donner Way.  The second vehicle was reported stolen in the 400 block of Northgate Drive and the third from the 500 block of Elm Avenue.
