An old-fashioned tri-tip and turkey barbecue social is in its 17th year benefitting the Manteca Historical Society and Museum.

It is being organized as a reunion like get-together with entertainment, a car show, fun, great food and drink, according to society spokesman Phyllis Abram.

The event is being held at Spreckels Park on Norman Drive in Manteca on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. with a “bountiful dinner” scheduled for 4 p.m.
