The Place of Refuge wants to once again play Santa for needy kids and make sure struggling families have a dinner this Christmas.
The congregation is staging a complete Christmas Eve dinner with gifts for kids on Saturday, Dec. 24, at 1 p.m. at the Place of Refuge, 486 Button Ave.
Pastor Mike Dillman and other organizers are calling on the community to donate unwrapped toys as gifts for preschoolers through 12 year-olds for the event so “that every kid will have a toy for Christmas.”
If you can help, drop a toy by the church office or call 239-1371.
The free event was attended by more than 800 people last Christmas morning.
The event was moved to Christmas Eve so it would follow the church’s services that have been shifted a day due to Christmas falling on Sunday.
