Manteca Scout Troop 423 members Brandon Rogers, Thomas Trzcinski and Connor Schmitz were awarded the rank of Eagle at a recent Court of Honor.

The group, beginning its 23rd year as a scouting organization, also introduced its new adult and youth leadership.

The nine-member executive committee will be led by Committee Chair K.C. Moebius, who noted that committee is rounded out with parents that want to be involved with group operations. Beverly Braham-Durica was named the new scoutmaster and Kasey Cordoza the assistant scoutmaster.

Those filling out the youth leadership roles are: Senior patrol leader, Jesse Moebius; assistant senior patrol leader, Brenden Verschuur; quartermaster, Noel Guiterriez; scribe, Camron Moebius; historian, Jake Alton; librarian, Zack Durica; chaplain aide, Collin Ivey; junior assistant scoutmaster, Jason Klatt and Flynn McNeeley; and patrol leaders, Diego Paez, Sean Samson, Alton and Cameron Moebius.

Group 423 will add eight new scouts in February and begin working toward its Disabilities Awareness merit badge. K.C. Moebius said the badge holds special significance for the group because many of the members face challenges with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders and physical limitations.

The group meets on Monday evenings at 7 o’clock at Sequoia Heights Baptist Church. For more information, contact scoutgroup423Manteca@gmail.com.
