Two events help mom fighting cancer

Laurie Mittman, 42 years old, wife and mother of three sons was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive breast cancer in August 2009.

Laurie’s team of doctors from Stanford has outlined a very aggressive treatment plan that will take place over the course of the next year and a half.

Laurie has always lived her life with passion, determination and love for her family and friends.  As she continues her battle, she has stated, “This cancer messed with the wrong mom!”

Currently, Laurie is on a leave of absence from Ghirardelli Chocolate Company where she is the sales merchandising manager.  As Laurie’s friends come together, two events have been planned to help offset medical and travel expenses.

The first is Pint Night at Tommy’s Beach Bar and Grill (Savemart Shopping Center) on Saturday, November 14th, from 2 to 6 p.m.  Pint glasses sell for $20, refills are $2 and there will be raffle prizes.  Then a Holiday Boutique will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Dance & Cheer Stars Studio, 1240 DuPont Court, behind Target in Manteca. All net proceeds will be donated to the Laurie Mittman Family Fund.
