Uno ms: Taco Bell adding Manteca store
taco-bell-LT
The Daniels Street Taco Bell will have architectural treatment similar to this store.

Manteca’s third Taco Bell could break ground in the coming months.

The site review of the 2,681-square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru window and 22 parking spaces goes before the Manteca Planning Commission on Tuesday. The commission meets at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center, 1001 W. Center St.

It is being built immediately east of McDonald’s on Daniels Street off Airport Way.

There is currently a three-way tie for first in the Manteca fast food race. McDonald’s has five locations including inside Wal-Mart. Tied with Mickey D’s at five is Subway and Starbucks. The count includes the Starbucks inside Safeway.

However sometime next month Manteca’s sixth Starbucks will open inside Target.

Panera Bread is expected to open in April at the location that is now under construction on East Yosemite Avenue east of Manteca Bowl.

Taco Bell’s third restaurant will tie it with Carl’s Junior as well as Jack in the Box.

Also with three Manteca locations but definitely not within the fast food category is Taqueria LaEstrella.

On the list of twin locations are Round Table Pizza, Jamba Juice, Baskin-Robbins, and Panda Express.

Taco Bell’s third store will mean 35 or roughly a fourth of the 155 fast food and quick beverage options in Manteca listed as having taxable sales permits are duplicate locations.
