Vendor fair Saturday at Bass Pro

There’s an opportunity for crafters and others to take advantage of Bass Pro Shops’ strong pull this Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

That’s when the FG Team Boosters Club is conducting a vendor’s fair to help pay for costs incurred by the Manteca T&T Gymnastics Competition Team. Booth space is $30.

Organizers are anticipating 40 booths.

Delta Trekkers

‘Spooky Walk’

The Delta Tule Trekkers are hosting a fun “Spooky Walk” at Caswell Memorial State Park, 28000 Austin Road, Ripon, this Halloween weekend Saturday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 1. 

The Trekkers are affiliated with the American Volkssport Association and offer non-competitive walks of 10k and 5K on the paved and dirt forest trails along the Stanislaus River.  Starting period is from 8 a.m. to noon with a barbeque at noon planned for both days.  All walkers are welcome, member or not, and may walk for AVA credit or for free, except for a park entry fee.  There will be a costume contest on Saturday with prizes offered.  For more information call (209) 931.0557 or visit the club website at www.deltatuletrekkers.org.

Country Store

Luncheon Oct. 27

The annual Country Store Luncheon hosted by Manteca Soroptimists is Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca (545 W. Alameda Street).

 Doors open at 11 a.m. and fun begins at 11:30. Costumes are encouraged and there will be prizes for the best looking ones and a raffle with over 100 prizes. Make reservations early as seating is assigned. Tickets are $15 each.



Indian Diwali

show on Nov. 7

The 21st annual Indian Diwali show presented by Indian Association of San Joaquin is scheduled at 9550 Ronald E McNair Way, Stockton for Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m.

The Diwali show will feature a variety of performances from different parts of India like Bhangra, Bharatanatyam, Kathak and classical fusion dances performed by local children. A

Helen Lipsett

fun run Nov. 22

The Heller E. Lipsett memorial 5K/1 mile community Run/Walk is scheduled for the Sunday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, at McParland Elementary School (1601 Northgate Drive).

The one-mile run ($15) starts at 8 a.m. and 5K at 8:30 ($25). All participants receive a free T-shirt. Proceeds help fun McParland running path. The organizers are also looking for sponsors.
