Members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca / Lathrop took part in the Wacky Egg Games Wednesday as part of the Spring Break activities.
The games consisted of egg toss, egg trot, and egg mania.
Egg mania?
That’s the activity involving John Scharf, lead youth coordinator, and Mark McCool, Lathrop site director, tossing the donated eggs out of the box, uncooked, high into the air amid the group of eager participants. The key for each was to catch as many eggs as possible without breaking the shell.
In the end, Alan Alameda, 16, grabbed the most. He was also tattered by egg yolks for his effort.
Other winners included Tea Solario, Tierra Solario, Deja Guzman, Serena Guzman and Manuel Yepez.
Alameda teamed with Margie Acosta to win the egg trot.
In the egg toss, the team of Kailee Bledsoe and Daniela Rodriguez and the duo of Jeremiah Simien and Trenton Nascimento emerged as the champs.
Each of the winners received Straw Hat gift cards good for a seven-inch pizza.
The Spring Break activities continue today at the Manteca Boys & Girls Club, 545 W. Alameda, with a game tournament consisting of the latest in Madden, Wii bowling, and Guitar Hero video games.
On Friday, a three-on-three hoop tournament is planned for noon along with the annual Easter Egg hunt scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
Club membership is open to 7 through 18 year olds for $12 a year that essentially covers all activities.
