Adeline was a life-long resident of Escalon, California.  She attended Burwood School and graduated from Escalon High School.

She worked at Stanislaus County Welfare Finance Department for many years.  Following her retirement from county service she worked with young children as a teacher’s aide and librarian in the Escalon School District.  She enjoyed assisting non-English speaking children to learn English and encouraged them to pursue education.  She was a member of the YLI.

Although she had no children of her own, she was an active participant in the lives of her nieces, nephews and godchildren.  She enjoyed being with family and friends and traveling, especially in the mountains where she and Virgil often gathered wild mushrooms.  She is well known for her marinated wild mushrooms and other wonderful dishes that she shared at family gatherings.  She was talented at interior and landscaping design.

Adeline is survived by her husband, Virgil Balduzzi, her sister, Rose Clarot, twelve nieces and nephews, twenty-two great nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Isabel Simas of Manteca and Mary Lopes of Escalon, her brother Joseph Lopes of Escalon and her sister-in-law Orcelina Balduzzi.
