Agnes Delores Holifield, 98, died peacefully on Thursday April 29, 2010 at her Dunnigan, California residence.

She was born Agnes Delores Brier as the first generation in America to parents from the Azores on August 11, 1911 in Petaluma, California where she grew up and attended school.

Agnes married Louis L. Holifield and lived in San Francisco where they raised their two children.

Agnes was employed by the California State Automobile Association as a secretary.

Her love in life was truly her husband, making a home and raising her children.

Agnes loved being surrounded by her many generations of grandchildren.

She was also a resident of Walnut Creek, Manteca, Reno, and most recently Dunnigan in Yolo County.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Cuyle and husband Bill of Dunnigan; son Julian Holifield and wife Lori of Manteca; 6 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchldren, 17 great-great-grandchildren; and many step-great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her husband Louis in 1992.

A memorial service will be held at Park View Cemetery in Manteca on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 11 a.m.
