Alan W. Wyrick, 60, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 in Manteca. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 25, 1948 to the late James “L. C.” and Ethel Wyrick. Alan is a long time resident of Manteca and graduated from Manteca High in 1967. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for over 35 years, and several of those years were spent working at Spreckels Sugar.

Mr. Wyrick is survived by his children; Jamie Alene Wyrick – Rosa of Cape Cod, MA, Michael W. Wyrick and wife Paulette of Windsor, CA and Lester R.A. Wyrick of Turlock, CA. Grandchildren: Victoria Ethel Rae Wyrick and Steveanna Betty Marie Wyrick both of Cape Cod, MA, Lenya Wyrick, Jennetta Wyrick, Adela Wyrick, Lester R.A. Wyrick Jr., and Ted Alvie Wyrick all of Turlock, CA. Siblings; James Wyrick of Manteca, CA, Rose Kirkwood and husband George of Joplin, MO, Billy Wyrick and wife Joan of Manteca, Jerry Wyrick and wife Cindy of Tulsa, OK , Barbara Cox of Oakdale, CA, and Kirby Wyrick of Manteca, CA, and numerous nephews, nieces and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents James “L.C.” Wyrick and Ethel Wyrick and brother, Ed Wyrick.

Alan will be remembered best for being a warm and caring man. He treasured his family the most in life; always providing them with strength, courage and most of all love. Alan was a true outdoorsman, whether it was riding his Harley-Davidson or fishing and hunting, he enjoyed being one with nature. The quest of hunting big game animals took him on many adventures through the years, including an African Safari. Alan also had an amazing creative side to him, creating custom jewelry from nature’s most beautiful rocks.

Arrangements are under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1p.m. in P.L. Fry Funeral Chapel. Final resting place will be at East Union Cemetery.
