Albert J.B. Brewer, aged 71 years, of Escalon, CA went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on December 22, 2022. He battled a very rare debilitating disease “MSA” (Multiple Systems Atrophy) for over 5 years; but finally succumbed to his illness.

He is survived by his wife of over 31 years, Phyllis, daughter Reanna Brewer, son Kyle Brewer, sister Pauline Brewer, step-daughter Susan Taiariol, son-in-law Ryan Taiariol, granddaughter Alice Taiariol, and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Lydia Brewer, his brother Mark Brewer, and infant daughter, Michelle.

J.B. was born on October 24, 1951 in Hayward, CA. He spent most of his young adult life in Fremont, CA where he graduated from Washington High School. JB enjoyed fishing and camping in and around the foothills of Yosemite National Park. He played baseball, loved animals and his giftedness was to make people laugh. J.B. was a Navy veteran and proudly served his country for seven years. He was honorably discharged and began a successful career in facilities maintenance for various semi-conductor manufacturing companies in “Silicon Valley.” During these years he mentored several young men through the Big Brothers Program.

In 1988 J.B. moved to Manteca, CA to be closer to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where he often went four wheeling. He became an active member of Calvary Community Church, where he met the love of his life, Phyllis. J.B. was employed by Calvary, as the facilities supervisor and he served as a Sunday School Class Leader, a Deacon, an Usher and Head Usher for many years. When Kyle and Reanna were children; J.B. was their Cub, Boy Scout and AWANA’S leader. J.B. was very active with various veteran organizations and a member of the American Legion Post 249 until his physical limitations, caused by MSA, forced him to resign.

J.B. was a skilled handyman and was always willing to help family members and friends.  He will be remembered for: his love for God, his love for his family, his big smile, his great sense of humor, and the stories of his naval adventures.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on February 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Church, 815 Lathrop Road, Manteca, CA.
