Alfred A Dunson, 78, died on Saturday, February 13.
Alfred held a track record at Ceres High for many long years, and attended Sacramento State College and West Point Academy after three IQ tests and his academic ability garnered scholarship offers. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and became a member of the International Aerospace Machinist in 1959; and served as President of Lodge #1528 for over 30 years and was then elected to Area Rep. for San Joaquin County in 1989. He was a master of gardening filling his yard with stunning cacti, flowers and fruits & vegetables. His abilities in photography and tropical fish were equally stunning but nothing tops the love of his life Arlene Bryant Dunson, his daughter Heidi, his granddaughters Stephanie and Jessica, and his three great granddaughters Sally & Violet Cesko and Harlow Cadmiri. He lost his sweetheart Arlene suddenly in 2005 from which he never fully recovered but his three great-granddaughters were the light of his remaining years. His graveside service will be on Friday, February 26 at 1 p.m. at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon. Arrangements by Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon with an online guest book at www.deeganfuneralchapels.com.
