Alice Ann Stewart, 57, of Manteca passed away on Friday, October 21st after a long illness.
Alice received her bachelor’s degree in geology and multiple subjects teaching credential from the University of the Pacific. She began her teaching career in Lammersville School District, teaching middle school science, transferred to Holt Union School District, and then retired from Manteca School District in 2011. Alice’s legacy will be remembered in the many lives she touched as a teacher.
Alice was an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress, loved working in her garden and being outdoors. Her adventurous spirit led her to traveling with her husband all over the world, kayaking down local rivers, or volunteering for race events at the Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca.
Alice is survived by her husband Bill of 25 years, her mother Barbara and brother Miles. She was preceded in death by her father, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held in Alice’s honor on Saturday, November 5th at 1:00 p.m., 5750 West F Street, Banta, CA, 95304. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, www.parkinson.org and/or bring a children’s book to the celebration of life and it will be donated to a local school.
