Alice Gomes, 89, entered into rest on August 27, 2012 in Lodi, Ca. She was born on July 13, 1923 in Turlock, Ca. She joins her husband in heaven Teotonio Gomes as well as her brothers Leonard, Harry, Raphael and Joe Luis.

Mrs. Gomes is survived by her children Connie Vieira (Tony) of Lodi and Tony Gomes (Kathy) of Escalon. She was blessed with four grandchildren; Gena Vieira, Julie Vieira both of Stockton, Jennifer Stinson of Arizona and Jacob Gomes of Escalon as well as 5 great-grandchildren Daniel, Edward, Jacob, Emilia, and Alexandria.

Alice was a lifetime resident of Escalon. She was a 50 year member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. To Alice being a homemaker was very important to her. She always made sure her family was content and happy which was always her number one priority. She enjoyed cooking as she constantly had a hot meal on the table for anyone who walked thru the door. Alice had another side to her that was extremely adventurous. She loved the challenge of keep up with her grandchildren. She always looked forward to new and exciting things with them such as swimming with Sting Ray’s on vacation and horseback riding. She enjoyed her many travels throughout her lifetime to Hawaii, Aruba, Belize, the Grand Caymans and the Azores. Alice will be remembered as a wonderful mother and an amazing grandmother. She will be missed.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Gomes’ family. A visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 from 1 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary/Vigil service at 7 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca. A mass will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 19399 E. Highway 120, Ripon.
