Alice Jane (Mello)  Macedo, 87, entered into rest on Thursday, June 23, 2011 in Manteca. She was  born April 11th, 1924 in  Stockton. Alice joins her  husband, the late Albert Macedo, as well as son Michael Macedo and  siblings Francys Mangili and Dorothy Azevedo.

She leaves behind her children: Mark Macedo of  Oakdale, Melissa Yamasaki and husband Larry of  Manteca, Martin Macedo of San Francisco, Matthew Macedo and wife Robbyn  of Manteca and daughter in law Barbara Macedo of  Clements. Alice was a loving grandma to her 8 grandchildren: Manuel  Macedo, MaryAnn Macedo, Ryan Yamasaki and wife Rachel, Erica  Segura and husband Joe, Jacob Macedo, Katelynn  Macedo, Mike Macedo Jr. and Anthony Macedo. She was also blessed by 3 great  grandchildren: Rayann  Yamasaki, Reid Yamasaki and Olivia Segura. She leaves one surviving sibling Rosalie Mello of Stockton. 

Alice retired from Doctor’s Hospital of Manteca where she worked in the billing department.  She was a faithful member of St. Anthony’s Catholic  Church where she was a member of the Young Ladies Institute. Alice was  a member of the M.R.P.S Hall, Manteca Travelers Club and the American Clipper Club. Alice had a  true passion for jazz music  never missing out on any of  the jazz festivals in the area. Alice found herself at peace cruising through California in her RV. She  loved Santa Cruz especially  when accompanied by her family. She had a loving  and nurturing soul with a smile that would light up a  room. Alice’s zest for life will never be forgotten. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements for Mrs. Macedo are under the  direction of P.L. Fry & Son  Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A visitation will be held on  Tuesday, June 28, from  1-6pm followed by a  Rosary at 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at 10:30 am at  St. Anthony’s Catholic  Church, 505 East North St.  followed by a graveside service at St. John’s  Catholic Cemetery, 17871  E. Carrolton Rd., Escalon. In lieu of flowers  remembrances may be sent to Bristol Hospice, 2140 Professional Way, Suite 210, Roseville, CA. 95661.
