Eligia Perez  Cervantes (Alice), 93, entered into rest on May 4, 2022.  She was born in Lamar, Colorado June 26, 1928.  Alice is one of fourteen children. The daughter of Victoriano and Juanita Perez.

She has led a remarkable life.  Alice was born one year before the Great Depression and lived through 21 presidencies, World War II, Vietnam, Korea and Iraq.  Many of her brothers enlisted in the military and received honors for their heroic deeds.

She is survived by her five children, David, Carmen, Loreen (Rick) Ferreira, Alphonso, Monica (Abraham) Rego. In addition to her children, she is also survived by her brother Gene Perez, sister Mary (Perez) Solano, also a close niece, Gloria Rodriguez.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother she always loved being in the company of others. In her younger years she was an amazing cook.  Her hobbies included gardening (some favorite flowers were roses, tulips, and gladiolus).  She also enjoyed embroidering and shopping for antique plates and dolls in her spare time. Her favorite meal was a good cup of hot coffee with some cream of wheat and toast.  Our Mom lived through the generation known as the Greatest Generation, a name that fits her personally as she was a GREAT MOM!  She loved her family with all her heart, and gave the Lord God Almighty praise and thanks for the blessings that the Lord bestowed upon her.  To God be the Glory forever! In the name of Jesus… Amen!
