Alicia “Alice” Fresquez, 81, entered into rest on April 16, 2011 in Manteca, California. She was born on January 2, 1930 in Loving, New Mexico, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Quintine & Maria Mendoza. She joins her parents in heaven as well as her husband of 29 years Elisario Fresquez Sr., her son Elisario Fresquez Jr., and her siblings: David Mendoza, Esiquiel Mendoza, Moises Mendoza, Inez Ortega, Tana Delgado, Edward Mendoza, Maria Ortega, Virginia Rodriguez, and Albert Mendoza.

Mrs. Fresquez is survived by her three loving children: Rosie Vasquez and husband Frank of French Camp, Linda Fresquez of Manteca, and Larry Fresquez and wife Nancy of Groveland, and one daughter-in law, Linda A. Fresquez. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Jason Fresquez of Stockton, Tina Perez of San Jose, Mercy Flores of Manteca, Delya and husband Anthony of Manteca, Elysa Fresquez of Manteca and Frank Fresquez of Stockton. She also has 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition Alice leaves behind many nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as “grandma.”

Alice worked in the medical field for over 10 years as a registered nurse and a home health care provider. Alice made a huge impact within her family, instilling the importance of family unity as she stressed to each of them love, kindness, and respect. Alice loved to sew, bake and cook. She enjoyed passing on family traditional recipes with her children and grandchildren. Alice will be sadly missed; she will leave an everlasting memory in our hearts that will be passed down from generation to generation as an amazing woman, mother, grandmother, mentor and friend. She will be loved forever.

Mrs. Fresquez’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 1 to 7 p.m. followed by an evening memorial at 7 p.m., both held at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 1:30 p.m., also at P.L. Fry & Son. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Park View Cemetery.
