Allen Lee Blankenship, 69, entered into rest on Nov. 24, 2010 at his home after a brief illness. He was born on October 4, 1941 to the late Albert and Elsie Blankenship in Manteca. He joins his siblings in heaven Jim Blankenship, Earl Blankenship, Bob Blankenship, Gaylord Blankenship, twin baby brothers, and Joanne Johnson and one son Michael Flading.

Mr. Blankenship is survived by his wife of 10 years, Carolyn Blankenship. He has 5 children; Randy Blankenship of Manteca, Dawn Renee Pardee of Manteca, Teri Guthrie of Manteca, Jennifer Anderson of Morgan Hill and Rebecca Bryand of Escalon. He was blessed by 12 grandchildren. In addition Allen is survived by two very special sisters, Carol Rachels of Manteca and Linda Sevedge of Manteca.

Allen was a resident of Copperopolis for 9 years. Before moving to Copperopolis he made his home in Manteca for over 60 years. He retired from San Joaquin Lumber after 20 years of service. Allen proudly served his country through the United States Marine Corps from 1959-1963. He was a member of the Teamsters, Marine Corps League, and was one of the original Clamper members of Manteca. He loved traveling in his RV all over the United States with his wife Carolyn and his Scottie Dog “Holly.” He enjoyed a good glass of wine with great friends reminiscing about old times. He was most proud of the home he built from the ground up in Copperopolis for his wife Carolyn and his grandchildren to enjoy. He loved 4-wheeling and spending time with his family. He enjoyed the simple things in life as he treasured special memories he shared with family and friends. Allen will be remembered for his outgoing funny personality and his caring spirit. He will be missed.

Allen’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A prayer service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. A graveside service will be held the following day on Thursday December 2, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Copperopolis Cemetery on Cemetery Lane in Copperopolis, Ca. In Lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Hospice of the Sierra’s 20100 Cedar Rd. Sonora, Ca. 95370.  An online guest book is available for condolences at www.plfryandson.com search obituaries.
