Services will be held Wednesday for Owens-Brockway retiree, Alverna Cardoza, 76.  The longtime Tracy resident passed away Tuesday November 22 of a long term illness.

Born on January 1, 1935 in Cordell, Oklahoma, she lived in Tracy for nearly 70 years.  She attended West Park Elementary School and graduated from Tracy High School, before graduating from Cosmetology school.  She enjoyed many activities including bowling, softball, water skiing, gambling and playing practical jokes on her friends. She was a gifted artist. She was very loving and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Cardoza is survived by her three daughters Francine Winsor of
Tennessee, Paula Gandy of Tracy, and Lisa Cardoza-Makley and her husband Db of Livermore, her brother Raymond Riggins of
San Jose, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Gilbert Cardoza, and her brothers Donald
Riggins and Clayton
Riggins.

Wednesday’s memorial service will begin at 11a.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 600 E. Schulte Rd. A reception at Windmill Ridge Winery, 8350 W. Linne Rd. will follow.
