Angie E. Lopes, 87, entered into rest on Jan. 6, in Manteca.
She was born on January 10, 1921 in San Miguel, Portugal (Azores). She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Antone Lopes and her brother Tony Pereira.
Angie is survived by her children David Lopes of Manteca and Louise and husband Wayne MacGregor of Littleton, Colorado; grandson; Colin MacGregor; and siblings; Mary Ormonde of Tracy, Connie Mancuso of Tracy, and Eugene Pereira of Tracy.
 Angie was a simple lady who grew up in Tracy and graduated form Tracy High. While living in Tracy Angie was a “dairy girl” she worked with her parents and siblings on their dairy in Tracy before entering into the factory world. She began her factory carrier with Kraft foods in Tracy and worked there for many years. In 1947 Angie moved to Manteca to raise her family. While raising her family she was very involved many organizations with her children such as 4-H where she taught cooking and sewing. In 1973 Angie joined Eckert Cold Storage and retired there in 1985. She was much loved at Eckert’s and was known as “The Banana Girl.” Angie will be remembered as a loving devoted Mother who dedicated her life to her family.
Services for Mrs. Lopes are being held under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery privately.
