Anita Vargas Martinez, 82, died Aug. 1 in Stockton.

She was born April 10, 1927 in Redondo Beach, CA, and had been a resident of Redding for five years.

She is survived by her husband Jack Martinez, of 64 years; Dennis Martinez of Littleton, CO, Jack Martinez of  Manteca, Linda Carpenter of Redding, Pauline Perez of Mesa, AZ, Bob Martinez of Mesa, AZ, and Charles (Butch) Martinez, of Manteca; siblings Rick Vargas of Patterson, Aurora Martinez of Brentwood, and Dave Vargas of Colorado; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Anita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

A Celebration of Life service will be Monday, Aug. 3, at 3 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home in the chapel. The final resting place is private.
