Anna A. Brown, 77, of Lathrop, California, went to be with the lord May 20, 2011, at Doctor’s Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born October 24, 1933 in Maryland, the daughter of late Clifton O. Edley and Delma Mae (Windgate) Edley. She was one of 11 children. On November 27, 1950, she married Billy Brown, who survives.
Anna was a very loving and caring woman who would do anything for anyone. She worked as a seamstress for 15 years and went on to work for Blue Diamond for a few years. When she was not at work, she was at home being an amazing mother to her four children. In her free time Anna enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren whom she was very proud of.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Billie and Butch Sweetin of Ripon, CA; son and daughter-in-law Kenny and Julie Brown of Berryville, AK; son and daughter-in-law Joe and Janet Brown of Lathrop, CA; sister Delma George of Newark, CA; brother Henry Edley of Pinole, CA; brother Ronald Edley of San Pablo, CA; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her brother Clifton Edley JR; brother Robert Edley; sister Dorothy Moody; sister Jeanette Minix; brother James Edley; daughter Yvonne Lopez; and granddaughter Crystal Sweetin.
A viewing will be held Friday May 27, 2011 at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel in Ripon, CA from 10 a.m to noon and a grave site service will take place at Farmington Cemetery at 1 p.m.
