Annabelle Mandeville, 83, our beloved Annabelle went back to the arms of her loving Father in heaven on Sat. Jan. 24. She had a gentle spirit that will remain with us always. Annabelle was born on Nov. 5, 1925 in Kinde, Mich., to Aleta and John Stoner. She graduated from Kinde High School and attended Port Huron Business College.

She worked in the engineering office for the Michigan Bell Telephone Co., where she met her future husband, William B. Mandeville. They married on Nov. 22, 1958, and then moved from Michigan to California in Feb. 1959. Annabelle worked in San Francisco for the Pacific Telephone Co. as a teletype and toll layout clerk from August 1959 until August 1960, and then she became a full-time homemaker.

The Mandevilles lived in Oakland, where their daughter, Cynthia Ann Mandeville, was born in Oct. 1960. Then they moved to San Leandro in Sept. 1961. Annabelle was involved with Good News Club and Missions at Manor Baptist Church, San Leandro, Calif. In August 1967, they moved to Manteca. She was very involved with the Women’s Missionary Group and White Cross Ministry at both Calvary Baptist Church, Manteca and Bethany Baptist Church, Stockton. In the fall of 2001, they moved to Oxnard, where Annabelle lived until her return to the Lord. She enjoyed gardening, especially roses, and she loved living in Oxnard, where she could enjoy her flowers and their beauty all year round. She was a member of Ventura Baptist Church.

Annabelle is survived by her husband, Bill (after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 22, 2008;) and her loving and devoted daughter, Cindy of Oxnard; sister, Dorothy Rowe; brother, Keith Stoner; sister-in-law, Joyce Stoner; niece, Diane Stoner, all of Port Huron, Mich.; niece, Vicki Stoner of Colutta, Ga.; nephews, David Stoner of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Steven Stoner and wife Jen; and great-niece, Abbi; and great-grand-nephews, Jacob and Carter Stoner of Fort Gratiot, Mich. Her brother-in-law, Robert J. Mandeville of Walnut Creek, Cal.; her sister-in-law, Louise Mandeville; nephew, Ralph Mandeville; great-niece, Rebecca Mandeville, all of Grass Valley, Calif.

A memorial service was held on Friday, Jan. 30, at 1:30 p.m. at Ventura Baptist Church, 5415 Ralston St., Ventura, CA 93003. Memorial contributions can be made to Ventura Baptist Church, designated for Missions or Habitat for Humanity..
