Anthony “Tony” Gomes Jr., 69, entered into rest on November. 15, 2011 in Manteca, California. He was born on June 9, 1942 in Stockton, California to the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony & Emma Gomes Sr.

Mr. Gomes is survived by his wife of 49 years Hedi (Baron) Gomes who was his high school sweetheart since the age of 15. His loving children are Lisa Walsh and husband Jim and Anthony Gomes and wife Lisa. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren Andrew, Michael, and Ashley Auten, Cruz and Cali Gomes, Brandon Tiago Auten, Steve, Justin and Candice Walsh. His bother-in-law and sister-in-laws are Michael and Julie Baron and Annalee Baron.

Tony was a resident of Manteca for 69 years; graduating from Manteca High School in 1960. He semi-retired as the owner of A&A Ag service INC. after 40 years in the construction business. Before his working career Tony proudly served his county with the United Sates Air Force from 1960-1964. He enjoyed trips to Lake Tahoe and Black Oak Casino where he always hoped to hit the “Big One.” Tony was a hard worker who always took care of his long time customers and enjoyed making new relationships with new customers. Above all things in life, Tony was devoted to his family. He loved his wife unconditionally for over 50 years as he had a special place in his heart for his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loyal man who had a heart of gold. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The Gomes family would also like to send out a very special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wolf for his dedication and his caring heart that he has shown towards the Gomes family throughout Tony’s illness. Your thoughtfulness never went unnoticed. 

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Gomes family. A visitation will be held on Saturday November 19, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. held at P.L. Fry 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. A Mass will also be held on Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 19399 E State Highway 120 Ripon at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at a later date in a private family burial.
