Tony isn’t gone; he’s just away.
Anthony “Tony” James Chavez went away from us on June 11, 2013. Tony left behind his mother Patricia, father Robert, sister Tina, brother in-law Ernesto, niece Ava, and a multitude of relatives and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him. Tony is just away because he will always live in our hearts and memories, so he can never be gone.
Tony was born on June 28th, 1967. He lived in Fremont for the first 20-years of his life and graduated from Irvington High School in 1985; during his senior year he was a member of the varsity football team and played several positions, both on offense and defense. He also played in the Fremont Youth Football League and the Fremont Baseball League where he developed lasting childhood friendships that continued throughout his lifetime. Tony later moved to Manteca where he was a successful business owner who provided auto maintenance services at his Big-O Tire franchise, located in Los Banos, CA.        Family and friends will be able to say farewell to Tony at a chapel service on Sunday, June 16, 12pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536.
The family has requested that donations be made in memory of Tony to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or to UCSF Foundation, Box 45339, San Francisco, CA 94145-0339.
