Arthur D. Costley, 77, entered into rest on January 8 in Manteca. He was born on February 12, 1932 in Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his sister Vera Varhola and his mother and father Elizabeth and Cleveland Costley. He was a resident of Manteca for over 14 years.

Mr. Costley is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Costley of Manteca. His beloved daughters are Mary Elizabeth Galvan of Ripon and Jana Kolsbun of Oregon. His two grandsons are Timothy Raposas of San Jose and Michael Galvan of Gilroy. In addition Arthur has five surviving siblings; Alma Ream of MD, Iona Harris of OH, Joyce Tekevec of MD, Ardelle Costley of Pomona, CA and Cleve Costley of OH.

Arthur retired after 31 years of service from Westinghouse in Sunnyvale, California as an Assistant Machinist Supervisor. He was an avid bowler, reader and fisherman. He loved working on his computer surfing on the Internet or e-mailing friends and family. He loved his local football teams “The Raiders and The 49ers.”  He was a handyman and could fix just about anything that needed to be repaired. Arthur was a very mild-mannered man who was very giving of his time. His devotion and love to his wife and daughters was unconditional. He leaves behind his beloved companion “Eddie” his toy poodle, who was always at his side. He will be remembered as an easygoing caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
