Aurelia (Peggy) Owen, a Ceres resident since 1988, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, after a brief illness. Her husband, Navy Master Chief George B. Owen Sr., preceded her in death in 1968.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Owen Sutherland and husband Scott of Fremont, CA, her son, George B. Owen Jr. and wife Linda of Ventura, CA, and by a sister Mary Louise Hahn of Mandeville, LA. She has three grandsons, Robin Sutherland of Elk Grove, CA, Todd Sutherland of Nixa, MO, and Christopher Bruder of Smithville, TX. She also has seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Erin, Haydn, Ryan, Lexus, Oakley and Owen.
Her special friends and adopted grandchildren, Annette and Bill Patterson of Ceres also survive her.
Peggy was a member of a local coffee club and will be remembered by many as the friendliest woman they ever met. She was a devoted shopper and will be missed by many local merchants.
