Barbara Ann (Pistorius) LaMar, 77, entered into rest on Nov. 6, 2010 in Manteca, CA. She was born on May 23, 1933 in Lake Villa, Illinois to the late Charles and Bernice Pistorius. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Jack LaMar and her only sister, Joan Ott.

Mrs. LaMar is survived by her four children; Steven LaMar and wife, Sandy of Salida, Diane Givens and husband Clif of Salida, Jeanette “Jan” Louda and husband Robert of Stockton, and Clinton “C.J.” LaMar and wife Patty of Manteca. She was blessed with four grandchildren; Brittany LaMar, Kimberly LaMar, Belem LaMar, and Rosie LaMar. In addition she has numerous step-and foster grand and great-grandchildren.

Barbara moved to Manteca in 1967, where she and her husband Jack became very involved in both the Manteca Men’s and Manteca Women’s Bowling Associations.  She remained an avid bowler for the next 35 years.  In 1977 they opened Redi-Mark Rubber Stamps and Copies which she continued to run after her husband’s passing.  After selling the business to her daughter in 1998 she started to travel.  She enjoyed many long and short trips.  Her favorite past times were knitting, reading, jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, and playing board and card games of all sorts.  She particularly loved to watch her grandchildren playing the different sports of their choice.  She also enjoyed going to S.F. Giants baseball games and was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan.

Mrs. LaMar’s services are under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 1to 5 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11 a.m.at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at East Union Cemetery, 1035 N. Union Road, Manteca.
